1990 – 2016/2019 – 2022 Batsche Design, Inc /Studio BDI Houston, TX, Principal/Chief Creative Officer
I’ve owned and managed a successful boutique design firm for 32 years where I use my ability to identify, develop and capitalize on existing business and future trends in the restaurant and corporate sectors of interior design.
The firm’s primary focus is in the restaurant practice area, however, we design active senior living communities, corporate office and multi use buildings; such as the Galveston Mid County Annex Building as well. Project types range from Interior Tenant Finish Out, Remodel and Ground Up spaces.
The firm’s responsibilities often cross over into assisting with exterior design, landscape design and branding when requested by our clients.
During the firms tenure, I built our client base to over 200 clients. In restaurant design, working with extremely tight budgets and time restraints often challenges me to find creative solutions for our clients.
In some instances, the firm was requested to act as a purchasing agent where we procured and coordinated delivery and installation of furnishings, light fixtures and decorative finishes.

During my time with McFaddin Ventures, I moved into an entry level design position. I left McFaddin Ventures shortly before graduating from the Art Institute of Houston in 1986 yo focus on my final portfolio review projects.

I n this position I was responsible for creating construction documents by hand drafting and the coordination of all other drawings required for construction with outside disciplines.
